Critical work is required to the wall at the car park end of the pavilion. It is rather surprising it has lasted so long! At long last we are able to repair it.

The Club is, however, taking the opportunity to redevelop the clubhouse, including the addition of a rear extension.

As you will see from these pictures taken on 29th December, the brickwork for the rear extension is almost completed. The extension roof is on and we are now in the dry and ready to move on with fitting out our new almost 100 square metres of spac.

The works are planned in three phases.

  1. build new bar and other storage area to rear of club house
  2. re-site new toilets and level the extended bar area; plus new kitchen area
  3. refurbish/restructure changing rooms

ICC Clubhouse Redevelopment Newsletter 5

Written by Chris Sims, Club Redevelopment Committee

Those who have been following the progress with our extension will have seen our progress, through pictures on the club web site or when passing by the clubhouse. I am pleased to be able to tell you that the shell of the extension is completed, it has a roof in place and that the original pavilion has a complete roof once again.

Our next task is to complete preparations to bring our new large space into service for the club and its members. To this end we have a working party organised by Sam Bourne for this Saturday morning (21st January) between 09:00 - 12:00 noon. All who can attend will be welcomed and there will be hot tea and biscuits available during the morning. Our main objective on Saturday is to lay the damp proofing and insulation in the floor ready for the floor screed to be laid in a week's time, and to tidy up the site, removing as much of the remaining building materials as we can from the grass.

The Management Committee and Re-Development team would like to invite you to attend a communications and consultation meeting next Friday 27th January 2012 at 7:30 pm, so that we can share plans for the internal layout of the club room. To facilitate this I have attached a plan diagram of the interior of the enlarged clubhouse which I invite you to review, consider and discuss with us at the meeting; we are anxious to share our views with you, understand your views and take input from the membership before finalising the internal layout

On behalf of the Management Committee and Re-Development team, we look forward to seeing as many members as possible for a discussion, and perhaps a drink, next Friday.
