Junior colts cricket

With a colts membership of around 250, we welcome boys and girls of all age groups to Ickenham to join in our foundation programmes or to represent the club in one of our many aged group squads. The colts season runs from 18 April 2008 through to 18 July, with some activities continuing throughout the school summer holiday and over the winter.

Foundation group
The club holds a very successful foundation programme on Sunday mornings from 10:30 am to 12 noon (starting April 20 2008 through to August 31). Sessions are open to all boys and girls under 11 (school years up to year 6) and who want to learn to play cricket in a fun and safe environment. To join turn up on any Sunday morning before 10:30 am. Please bring with you the completed application forms (see below). Although we will ask for a cheque (see below) we won't cash it for a couple of weeks just to make sure the new member settles in first.

Colts' teams
Boys and girls are selected from the foundation group to represent the club at Under 10 (A and B) and Under 11. Squad selection takes place during the first two Sundays (20 and 27 April 2008) with further continuous assessment throughout the season.

Under 13 (A and B), Under 15 (A and B) and Under 17 squads are selected through continuous assessment over the previous season. We are only taking new membership applications into these squads from boys and girls who have a playing record with another club or their school and who are able to successfully trial for a place. To join at this level please contact the Colts Chairman (see committee for contact details).

The under 10B squad trains on a Sunday morning with the foundation group. Click here for a list of coaching sessions for the under 10A, under 11, under 13A, under 13B, under 15A and under 15B squads. The under 17 squad trains on a Thursday with the seniors.

Girls at Ickenham
Due to the successful rebirth of our Ladies Cricket section, the MCB has targeted Ickenham as the key club for prospective girls and ladies to go to in the West of the County for development and training. Girls up to and including school year 6 are welcome to attend the regular foundation programmes and be available for selection to our younger squads. Girls in the older age groups are assessed for selection to represent the club alongside boys. However, additional training is provided on Wednesday evenings (18:00 to 20:00) to all girls in school years 7 and above through our Girl's Academy with some girls representing the club in the Ladies Xl. Girls of all abilities are welcome to join, especially those who are new to the game of cricket. Please contact the Girls Academy Head Coach for further information (see Girl's Academy).

Family membership
Boys and girls join the club through a Family membership. All members of the immediate family are welcome to enjoy the club's facilities. Membership fees are £40 (plus £10 for each additional sibling attending colts training).
